Notice of Environment Act Proposal

Manitoba Conservation and Climate has received a proposal pursuant to The Environment Act regarding the following operation and invites public participation in the review process:

OVERTON ENVIRONMENTAL ENTERPRISES INC. – PORTAGE la PRAIRIE ORGANIC RESOURCE FACILITY – COMPOSTING FACILITY –FILE: 6030.00

An Environment Act Proposal has been filed by Overton Environmental Enterprises Inc. (OEE) for the construction and operation of a commercial composting facility at Lot 1 Plan 65753 PLTO on SE 31-11-7 WPM in the Rural Municipality of Portage la Prairie, Manitoba. OEE Inc. will accept organic material for composting from Simplot Canada (II) Limited, Assiniboia Downs, Master Feeds, Roquette Pea Processing Plant (future potential supplier of materials), and other materials such as wood chips for the composting process.

Information submitted in response to this proposal is considered public information and will be made available to the proponent and placed on the public registry established in accordance with Section 17 of The Environment Act.
