Notice of Environment Act Proposal

Manitoba Conservation and Climate has received a proposal pursuant to The Environment Act regarding the following operation and invites public participation in the review process:

Glenway Holding Co. Ltd. – WASTEWATER TREATMENT LAGOON- FILE: 5634.10

An Environment Act Proposal has been filed by Glenway Holding Co. Ltd. for construction of a new primary cell and decommissioning of the existing primary cells located on portions of east half of 2-3-3 EPM within the Municipality of Emerson-Franklin. The treated effluent will be discharged into the Roseau River via a constructed swale and an oxbow.

PINE CREEK HOLDING

Notice of Environment Act Proposal

Manitoba Conservation and Climate has received a proposal pursuant to The Environment Act regarding the following operation and invites public participation in the review process:

PINE CREEK HOLDING CO. LTD. – PINE CREEK COLONY IRRIGATION PROJECT - FILE: 6051.00

An Environment Act Proposal has been filed by Pine Creek Holding Co. Ltd. for the construction and operation of an irrigation project in the Municipality of North Norfolk near Firdale and north of Sidney. One off-channel reservoir would initially be constructed in NE 7-12-12W, with two other sites potentially constructed in future years (SE 18-12-12W and/or NW 11-12-12W). The reservoir(s) would be filled from Pine Creek during the spring runoff period each year, with the stored water used for the irrigation of potatoes. The project would initially include four fields in rotation, with irrigation only in the potato years of the rotation. In future years up to ten fields could be included in the project. Operation of the initial components of the system would begin in 2020 or 2021.

RURAL MUNICIPALITY OF ELLICE-ARCHIE

Notice of Environment Act Proposal

Manitoba Conservation and Climate has received a proposal pursuant to The Environment Act regarding the following operation and invites public participation in the review process:

RURAL MUNICIPALITY OF ELLICE-ARCHIE – McAULEY WASTEWATER TREATMENT LAGOON - FILE: 162.10

An Environment Act Proposal has been filed on behalf of the Rural Municipality of Ellice-Archie for the construction and operation of a new wastewater treatment lagoon for the community of McAuley. The new facility would be constructed immediately south of the existing lagoon in NW 11-15-29 W, approximately half a kilometre northeast of the community. The new facility would have two cells lined with a synthetic liner, and would treat wastewater from the community as well as truck hauled wastewater from other parts of the municipality. Treated effluent from the lagoon would be discharged to a drain to Scissor Creek between June 16 and October 31 of each year. The existing lagoon would be decommissioned once the new lagoon was operational, with dried sludge from the existing lagoon applied on agricultural land in the area. Construction of the new lagoon would begin when funding was available.
