Notice of Environment Act Proposal

Manitoba Conservation and Climate has received a proposal pursuant to The Environment Act regarding the following operation and invites public participation in the review process:

BERGER PEAT MOSS LTD. – HORTICULTURAL MIX PLANT – FILE: 6055.00

An Environment Act Proposal has been filed by Berger Peat Moss Ltd. for the construction and operation of a peat screening and mixing plant for horticultural growing media located at 22054 Oakwood Road 64 North, on the NW ¼ Section of 23-11-4 EPM, in the Rural Municipality of Springfield, Manitoba. At peak operations, it is expected that the plant could process up to 1.5 million bags of loose peat (compressed to roughly 510,000 m³), and 2.5 million bags of growing media (compressed to roughly 570,000 m³).

L’entreprise Berger Peat Moss Ltd a présenté un projet en vertu de la Loi sur l’environnement pour la construction et l’exploitation d’une usine de criblage et de mélange de tourbe destinés aux substrats horticoles, laquelle usine serait située au 22054, ch. Oakwood (route 64 Nord), au ¼ N.‑O., sect. 23‑11‑4 E.M.P., dans la municipalité rurale de Springfield (Manitoba). Lorsque l’exploitation sera à son maximum, l’usine devrait pouvoir traiter jusqu’à 1,5 million de sacs de tourbe en vrac (comprimée pour donner environ 510 000 m3), et 2,5 millions de sacs de milieux de culture (comprimés pour donner environ 570 000 m3).
