Notice of Environment Act Proposal

Manitoba Environment and Climate Change invites public comment on the following proposal:

MANITOBA HYDRO - RADISSON TO HENDAY (R44H) TRANSMISSION PROJECT - FILE: 6214.00

Manitoba Hydro proposes a 42-kilometre, 230-kilovolt transmission line (R44H) within an existing transmission corridor between the Radisson and Henday converter stations. The project area falls entirely within the Town of Gillam (previously known as the Local Government District of Gillam). If approved, construction will begin as early as December 2024 with an anticipated in-service date of summer 2026.

Anyone likely to be affected by the proposal and who wishes to comment should contact Bryce Wood, Environment Officer, in writing or by email at Bryce.Wood@gov.mb.ca no later than April 29, 2024. Further information is available from the Public Registry: www.gov.mb.ca/sd/eal/registries

Information submitted in response to this proposal will be available to the proponent and placed on the public registry per Section 17 of The Environment Act.

Avis de dépôt de projet en vertu de la Loi sur l’environnement

Le ministère de l’Environnement et du Changement climatique du Manitoba sollicite les commentaires du public à l’égard du projet suivant :

MANITOBA HYDRO - PROJET DE LIGNE DE TRANSPORT D’ÉLECTRICITÉ RADISSON-HENDAY (R44H) - DOSSIER : 6214.00

Manitoba Hydro prévoit construire une ligne de transport d’électricité (R44H) de 42 km et de 230 kV dans un couloir de lignes électriques existant entre les postes de conversion Radisson et Henday. La zone du projet se situe entièrement dans la ville de Gillam (anciennement connue sous le nom de district d’administration locale de Gillam). Si le projet est approuvé, les travaux de construction commenceront dès décembre 2024. La date d’entrée en service est prévue pour l’été 2026.

Toute personne susceptible d’être touchée par le projet et qui désire formuler des commentaires est invitée à communiquer avec Bryce Wood, agent de l’environnement, par écrit ou par courriel à Bryce.Wood@gov.mb.ca au plus tard le 29 avril 2024.
