Notice of Environment Act Proposal

Manitoba Environment, Climate and Parks has received a proposal pursuant to The Environment Act regarding the following operation and invites public participation in the review process:

MANITOBA LABOUR, CONSUMER PROTECTION AND GOVERNMENT SERVICES – LAND APPLICATION OF BIOSOLIDS – FILE: 517.10

An Environment Act Proposal has been filed on behalf of Manitoba Labour, Consumer Protection and Government Services for land application of biosolids from an existing wastewater treatment lagoon located in NW 17-08-11 EPM in the Rural Municipality of Reynolds onto agricultural lands within the municipality in an agri-environmentally sustainable manner. The parcels of land on which the biosolids may be applied are located within NE 31-08-12 EPM and WSRLs 20, 24, 25, 50, and 51-8-12 EPM in the Rural Municipality of Reynolds. The existing lagoon will be decommissioned during and following completion of the land application of biosolids activities.

Anyone likely to be affected by the above operation and who wishes to comment on the proposal should contact Robert Boswick, Environmental Engineer, in writing or by email at Robert.Boswick@gov.mb.ca not later than April 21, 2022. Information submitted in response to this proposal is considered public information and will be made available to the proponent and placed on the public registry established in accordance with Section 17 of The Environment Act

Avis de dépôt de projet en vertu de la Loi sur l’environnement

Le ministère de l’Environnement, du Climat et des Parcs du Manitoba a reçu un projet en vertu de la Loi sur l’environnement relativement à l’activité suivante et invite le public à participer au processus d’examen :

MINISTÈRE DU TRAVAIL, DE LA PROTECTION DU CONSOMMATEUR ET DES SERVICES GOUVERNEMENTAUX – ÉPANDAGE AU SOL DE BIOSOLIDES – DOSSIER : 517.10

Un projet en vertu de la Loi sur l’environnement a été déposé pour le compte du ministère du Travail, de la Protection du consommateur et des Services gouvernementaux du Manitoba en vue de l’épandage au sol de biosolides provenant d’un étang d’épuration de l’eau usée existant au N. O. 17-08-11 E.M.P. dans la municipalité rurale de Reynolds, sur les terres agricoles au sein de la municipalité de façon durable sur le plan de l’agroenvironnement. Les parcelles de terre où les biosolides pourraient être épandus se trouvent au N. E. 31-08-12 E.M.P., aux WSRL 20, 24, 25 et 50, et au 51-8-12 E.M.P. dans la municipalité rurale de Reynolds. L’étang existant sera mis hors service pendant et après les activités d’épandage au sol de biosolides.

Toute personne susceptible d’être touchée par l’activité susmentionnée qui désire formuler des commentaires sur le projet est invitée à communiquer avec Robert Boswick, ingénieur en environnement, par écrit ou par courriel à l’adresse Robert.Boswick@gov.mb.ca, au plus tard le 21 avril 2022. Les observations fournies relativement à cette demande sont considérées comme relevant du domaine public. Elles seront donc mises à la disposition de l’auteur de la demande et placées dans le registre public établi en vertu de l’article 17 de la Loi sur l’environnement.
