THE WINNIPEG FOUNDATION

This is notice to the public that The Winnipeg Foundation will present a petition for a Private Bill to the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba at this or the next session of the Legislature.

The Private Bill will make the following amendments to The Winnipeg Foundation Act:

The mayor of the City of Winnipeg will no longer be required to be a member of the board of directors of The Winnipeg Foundation.

The circumstances when The Winnipeg Foundation may depart from the directions of a donor or the trusts or conditions attaching to property are expanded to include situations when a donor is unable or refuses to provide necessary directions and when a trust no longer fulfills the purposes or objectives when it was formed.

Information respecting the audit of the financial statements of The Winnipeg Foundation will be required to be published on the Foundation's website.

Il est par les présentes donné avis que la fondation dénommée « Winnipeg Foundation » entend présenter à l’Assemblée législative du Manitoba, à la session en cours ou à la prochaine session, une pétition introductive d'un projet de loi d'intérêt privé.

Le projet de loi modifie la Loi sur la Fondation dénommée « The Winnipeg Foundation » comme suit :

Il n'est plus obligatoire que le maire de la ville de Winnipeg siège au conseil d’administration de la Fondation.

Il est maintenant permis à la Fondation de déroger aux directives d'un donateur ou d'une fiducie, ou à une condition se rapportant aux biens, dans les cas où le donateur est incapable de donner les directives nécessaires ou qu'il refuse de le faire ou lorsqu'une fiducie ne répond plus aux objectifs énoncés au moment de sa création.

Enfin, la Fondation doit dorénavant publier sur son site Web certains renseignements concernant l'audit de ses états financiers.
