Notice of Environment Act Proposal

Manitoba Environment and Climate Change invites public comment on the following proposal:

CANADA PACKERS ARBORG FEED MILL – FILE: 6274.00

Canada Packers Inc. proposes to continue the operation of the existing hog feed mill located on Lot 1, Plan 43542 River Lots 46 and 47 in the Town of Arborg, Manitoba. The facility, operational since the late 1960s, manufactures hog feed for Canada Packers-owned farms in southern Manitoba. The plant operates 24 hours a day, five days a week, producing approximately 350 tonnes of feed daily.

Canada Packers Inc. propose de poursuivre l’exploitation de l’usine d’aliments pour porcs existante située sur le lot 1, plan 43542, lots riverains 46 et 47, dans la localité d’Arborg, au Manitoba. En activité depuis la fin des années 60, cette usine fabrique des aliments pour porcs destinés aux fermes appartenant à Canada Packers dans le sud du Manitoba. L’usine fonctionne 24 heures sur 24, cinq jours par semaine, et produit environ 350 tonnes d’aliments pour animaux par jour.

Manitoba Environment and Climate Change invites public comment on the following proposal:

RURAL MUNICIPALITY OF DE SALABERRY – ST. MALO WASTEWATER TREATMENT LAGOON EXPANSION – FILE: 2632.20

The Rural Municipality of De Salaberry proposes to expand the St. Malo four-cell wastewater treatment lagoon in River Lots RL-94B-MA and RL-94A-MA. The project includes adding a new storage cell to the north and raising the existing dikes. Treated wastewater will continue being discharged via the lagoon perimeter ditch into a provincial drainage channel, which drains into the Rat River about 4.5 km downstream.
