Notice of Environment Act Proposal

Manitoba Conservation and Climate has received a proposal pursuant to The Environment Act regarding the following operation and invites public participation in the review process:

NUTRIEN AG SOLUTIONS (CANADA) INC. – BULK MATERIAL HANDLING FACILITY – FILE: 6107.00

An Environment Act Proposal has been filed by Nutrien Ag Solutions (Canada) for the construction and operation of a 9,302 square meter bulk material handling facility located on civic address 340 Goldenrod Drive, Winnipeg, MB, legal land description as being Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5, of Plan 64621, WLTO, in SE ¼ section 34-11-2 EPM in the Brookport Business Park. The new distribution center will store agrichemical products such as pesticides, bagged seed, and bagged fertilizer.

Manitoba Conservation and Climate has received a proposal pursuant to The Environment Act regarding the following operation and invites public participation in the review process:

SOUTHERN MANITOBA POTATO CO. LTD. AND KROEKER FARMS LTD. – DEADHORSE IRRIGATION PROJECT – FILE: 6110.00

An Environment Act Proposal has been filed by Southern Manitoba Potato Co. Ltd. and Kroeker Farms Ltd. for the construction and operation of an irrigation project in the Rural Municipality of Stanley. The project includes a proposed off-channel reservoir in SE 18-3-4W filled from a pumpsite on Deadhorse Creek in NW 20-3-4W and supplemented by a pumpsite on a waterway in SE 18-3-4W. Water would be pumped to the reservoir during the spring runoff period and during periods of high summer flows using buried pipelines. Water from the reservoir would be used to irrigate 28 fields totaling 1387 hectares in a three to four year rotation, with up to 405 hectares per year irrigated. Construction of the reservoir and water diversion works is planned to begin in the summer of 2021, with some irrigation occurring in 2022 and full development completed by 2025.

Le ministère de la Conservation et du Climat du Manitoba a reçu un projet en vertu de la Loi sur l’environnement relativement à l’activité suivante et invite le public à participer au processus d’examen :

SOUTHERN MANITOBA POTATO CO. LTD. ET KROEKER FARMS LTD. – PROJET D’IRRIGATION DEADHORSE – DOSSIER : 6110.00

Un projet en vertu de la Loi sur l’environnement a été déposé par Southern Manitoba Potato Co. Ltd. et Kroeker Farms Ltd. en vue de la construction et de l’exploitation d’un aménagement d’irrigation dans la municipalité rurale de Stanley. Le projet propose l’aménagement d’un réservoir hors chenal à l’emplacement situé au S. E. 18-3-4 O, qui serait rempli à partir d’un lieu de pompage donnant sur le ruisseau Deadhorse au N. O. 20-3-4 O, ainsi que d’un lieu de pompage sur un cours d’eau situé au S. E. 18-3-4 O. L’eau serait pompée dans le réservoir pendant la période de ruissellement printanier, ainsi que pendant les périodes de débit élevé estivales au moyen de conduites souterraines. L’eau du réservoir servirait à irriguer 28 champs totalisant 1 387 hectares en pratiquant une rotation de trois ou quatre ans, irriguant jusqu’à 405 hectares par année. La construction du réservoir et les travaux de détournement des eaux devraient commencer à l’été 2021, une irrigation partielle commençant en 2022 et l’aménagement entier devant être terminé d’ici 2025.
