MUNICIPALITY OF GRASSLAND – HARTNEY WASTEWATER TREATMENT LAGOON EXPANSION AND BIOSOLIDS APPLICATION

Notice of Environment Act Proposal

Manitoba Environment, Climate and Parks has received a proposal pursuant to The Environment Act regarding the following operation and invites public participation in the review process:

MUNICIPALITY OF GRASSLAND – HARTNEY WASTEWATER TREATMENT LAGOON EXPANSION AND BIOSOLIDS APPLICATION – FILE: 70.10

Municipality of Grassland proposes to expand Hartney wastewater treatment lagoon and land apply biosolids generated from the primary cell of the lagoon. The lagoon is located to the north of the community on portions of SW 21-6-23 WPM. The proposed expansion will include construction of a new secondary cell to the east of the existing facility. A synthetic liner will be used to line all cells. The biosolids will be injected into agricultural lands located on the east half of 22-6-23 WPM. The treated effluent will be discharged into the Souris River

Avis de dépôt de projet en vertu de la Loi sur l’environnement

Le ministère de l’Environnement, du Climat et des Parcs du Manitoba a reçu un projet en vertu de la Loi sur l’environnement relativement à l’activité suivante et invite le public à participer au processus d’examen :

MUNICIPALITÉ DE GRASSLAND – AGRANDISSEMENT DE L’ÉTANG D’ÉPURATION DE L’EAU USÉE DE HARTNEY ET DE L’ÉPANDAGE DE BIOSOLIDES – DOSSIER : 70.10

La municipalité de Grassland propose d’agrandir l’étang d’épuration de l’eau usée de Hartney et l’épandage de biosolides générés dans la cellule principale de l’étang. L’étang est situé au nord de la collectivité sur des parties de l’emplacement S.-O. de la sect. 21-6-23 OMP. L’agrandissement proposé comprendra la construction d’une cellule secondaire à l’est de l’installation existante. Une doublure synthétique sera utilisée pour toutes les cellules. Les biosolides seront injectés dans les terres agricoles situées sur la moitié est de la sect. 21-6-23 OMP. L’effluent traité sera déversé dans la rivières Souris.
